B270® Flat Glass:

To meet different market demands, SCHOTT offers the well-known B270® crown glass in flat sheets. B270® glass produced by the up-drawing method has the following characteristics:

a) High stability to sunlight
b) High transmittance in the visible light range
c) High stability of thermal and chemical properties
d) Fire polished surface

Applications:
a) CD/DVD optical connection system

Optical components, such as polarizing beam splitters, mirrors and prisms that require optical connection systems, are composed of B270®.
Glass sheets of various thicknesses, their high transmittance and practicality can ensure good performance of optical connection systems.

b) Digital projection:

Due to its high transmittance and practicality on thin sheets, many optical components, such as P/S converters, integrator lenses or dichroic filters, are made of B270®. B270® flat glass is easy to produce and easily coated, which gives the glass processor the flexibility to manufacture the desired product.

c) CRT door phone gift:

CRT intercom systems for the B270®, including monitors, are a popular application. Since B270® has a fire-polished surface and is stable when exposed to the sun, a non-processed version of the glass can be used as the cover panel.

d) Gifts:

Due to the unique blend of glass with other parts and beautiful appearance, B270® can be used in many decorative areas such as artwork, shelves and watch glasses.

e) Touch screen pad

Nowadays, many computer drive systems are equipped with touch screen pads. B270® provides a coefficient of expansion and responsiveness relationship that makes our glass attractive.

f) Coated monitoring glass

B270® can be used as a test glass to evaluate coatings. In order to check the machine settings and ensure the accuracy of the measurement results, this procedure requires the glass to be able to increase its high transparency.
