SCHOTT BK7

SCHOTT BK7 is a high-performance optical glass used in a wide range of precision optical devices and devices. It has excellent optical properties, especially in the visible range, providing high transmittance and low scattering, suitable for the manufacture of lenses, prisms, optical components and instruments. BK7 glass has a refractive index of about 1.51, enabling high precision optical design. At the same time, BK7 also has excellent mechanical strength and good workability, suitable for precision cutting, polishing and coating treatment. Its low coefficient of thermal expansion enables it to maintain stable physical properties in a temperature changing environment, making it an ideal material for the optical industry.

N-BK7 Product Introduction:

* Because of environmental protection requirements, BK7 as borosilicate glass has been discontinued, and the new alternative product is N-BK7.

N-BK7 is designed and produced by Schott, Germany, is widely used in a variety of visible light and short-wave infrared applications, compared to other similar glass, its advantages are mainly reflected in the following aspects:

High performance, low cost
Good consistency of materials
High uniformity of refractive index
Low stress birefringence
Less bubbles and stripes
-These aspects reflect the comparative advantage of German manufacturing

The Qualities of N-BK7

Optical materials is reflected in their uniformity. More specifically, the refractive index of the entire glass is extremely narrow. Therefore, optical glasses for high-power lasers and astronomical applications in particular require extremely high homogeneity.

N-BK7 can withstand lower transition temperatures, mostly below 550°C, which can increase mold life and shorten molding time.
There will be a low tendency for chemical reactions with mold materials within the molding temperature range.
Has strict optical tolerances.
Various glass sizes available.
A variety of supply forms, including optical raw materials, optical blanks, optical parts, etc.N-BK7

High-energy laser technology, measurement technology
Semiconductor industry
Satellite technology, imaging applications in astronomical applications
Absolute refractive index deviation is small: H5 glass has a peak-to-valley value of 1 x 10-6
The imaging resolution of this quality grade glass is extremely high
The product provides a separate test report
Uniformity is measured using an advanced and extremely accurate interferometer
